To be honest… I’m not much of a partier myself. I haven’t stepped foot in a club since I left university and the idea of going in one now just makes me shudder. I know this makes me sound like a bit of a grandma but even though I am only 23 I feel like I’m just getting too old for this stuff now.
However, I am partial to a good gin and tonic, I love having a dance to cheesy pop songs and catching up with friends. This is my idea of a good night out. But, big parties aren’t really my jam until this time of year creeps in, which means there is a lot of pressure to get one hell of an outfit.
I decided I wanted to go for something a little bit different to my usual party get-up this year. I originally thought about wearing a snazzy suit or blazer dress but… I am now coming to terms with the fact that I just can not pull them off. My figure is all wrong for those looks sadly, am I the only one having this issue!? However, I did decide to purchase this silver blazer in the hopes that I could find something fabulous to pair with it and I bloody did!
BLAZER – TOPSHOP, DRESS – PRETTY LITTLE THING, BOOTS – BOOHOO
If you read my wish list post, you would have seen that I was umming and ahhing over this polka dot backless dress for a while. I searched through all of the online shopping sites that I could think of and I just could not find anything that I liked as much as this. However, I wasn’t sure how this dress would look on me as skin tight dresses aren’t always the most flattering on my pear shaped figure but… I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and it actually fit! It hugs my curves in all the right places and squeezes everything else in.
I absolutely adore the open back and ribbon aspect of this dress and the puffy sleeves are sooooo eighties, it is right up my street. I wasn’t looking for a dress this year but I feel like I don’t have anything in my wardrobe quite like this sexy little number.
I decided to pair this with some red patent heeled boots to add some extra sass into my outfit and these gorgeous ribbon earrings to bring in an element of Christmas into my look. When I first saw this loveheart bag I just knew I had to have it, it is perfect for adding some fun into your outfit.
BAG – MONKI
There are several elements in this outfit that I think makes it perfect for this time of year, including the colours red and green, metallics and ribbons. I know that I will feel my absolute best in this outfit at the office Christmas party this year and now all I have to worry about is not embarrassing myself in front of my boss!
